SSC Recruitment 2026 Apply Online | Senior Secretariat Assistant/UDC Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination 2025

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification for the Senior Secretariat Assistant/Upper Division Clerk Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025. The examination will be conducted for making additions to the Select List of SSA/UDC Grade [Pay Level-4 Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted (Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100)] for various Services/Cadres including Central Passport Organisation, Armed Forces Headquarters, Railway Board Secretariat, and others. A total of 420+ vacancies have been announced across 10 Services/Cadres. Interested and eligible departmental candidates can apply online from 05 June 2026 to 26 June 2026.

  2. Generate One Time Registration (OTR) on the new website (old OTR on https://ssc.nic.in is not functional)
  3. Opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication while completing OTR process
  4. Login with Registration Number and Password
  5. Click “Apply” link for “Senior Secretariat Assistant/UDC Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025” under “Live Exam” tab
  6. Fill in all personal, departmental, and service details carefully
  7. Capture live photograph following the instructions (pre-existing photo not allowed)
  8. Upload scanned signature (JPEG format, 10-20 KB, dimensions: 6.0 cm width x 2.0 cm height)
  9. Upload required documents (Service Book copy, service particulars, educational certificates, disability certificates if applicable)
  10. Preview and verify all details before final submission

The selection process consists of two parts:

PART-I: COMPUTER BASED & WRITTEN EXAMINATION (300 MARKS)

SSC Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions

  • Only departmental candidates whose parent Service/Cadre is one of the participating Services/Cadres can apply.
  • Candidates must be regularly appointed Junior Secretariat Assistant/Lower Division Clerk in their respective Service/Cadre.
  • Applications must be forwarded by Head of Department/Head of Office – only then will candidature be considered.
  • No request for change of examination centre will be entertained (Delhi NCR only).
  • Live photograph capture is mandatory – pre-existing photographs will lead to rejection.
  • Applications with blurred/miniature signatures or inappropriate photographs will be rejected summarily.
  • No change in online application entries is allowed after submission.
  • Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for wrong answers in Paper-I.
  • Tie cases resolved by: (i) Marks in Paper-II, (ii) Marks in part (b) of Paper-II, (iii) Older date of birth, (iv) Alphabetical order of names.

Malpractices may lead to debarment from 1 to 7 years as per Commission rules.

The Commission may fix minimum qualifying marks for Paper-I and Paper-II individually.

Final selection based on aggregate of Paper-I + Paper-II + Part-II (APAR Evaluation).
